Cumberland Farms Opens First Drive-Through Convenience Store in Massachusetts

Kingston, MA – Designed for busy, on-the-go shoppers, the new drive through at 41 Main Street in Kingston, Mass. allows shoppers to order from a diverse menu, featuring fresh foods like breakfast and deli sandwiches, as well as the retailer’s signature Farmhouse Blend coffee and Chill Zone fountain and frozen drinks. In fact, a wide variety of the 3,000 items sold inside the store are available for drive-through purchase, including grocery staples like bread, eggs, and cereal.

The official grand opening for Cumberland Farms’ first drive-through convenience store will take place at 3:30 pm on Monday, January 24, 2011. As part of the celebration, Cumberland Farms will kick off a month-long fundraiser in which 20 cents from the sale of every dispensed beverage such as coffee and Chill Zone will be earmarked for donation to the Kingston Schools.

“We are excited to fulfill an important role in the marketplace and introduce a new avenue that makes every day easier for our customers,” said Cumberland Farms President Ari Haseotes. “We can provide daily essentials in a single stop whether it’s a coffee, a hot sandwich or a gallon of milk.”

The new drive-through is the latest innovation from Cumberland Farms, as the company accelerates a major store renovation project for all of its 500+ convenience stores. With the Kingston drive-through as a pilot, Cumberland Farms plans to eventually open more in the Bay State, as well as other states in its footprint.
