Cumberland Farms Aims to Stack-Up Funds for Leicester Public Library Renovation

(Leicester, MA – December 13, 2011) - Residents of Leicester, MA are getting closer to a renovated public library with the help of a fundraiser sponsored by Cumberland Farms.

For four weeks beginning on Tuesday, December 13, Cumberland Farms will donate 20 cents from every Chill Zone beverage, iced tea, and coffee (iced or hot) purchased at its newly remodeled store at 1530 Main Street toward the Leicester Public Library Expansion Campaign, which aims to provide improved accessibility, space, and library resources to the Leicester community. Cumberland Farms aims to raise at least $1,000 for the campaign. Between a state construction grant and other donations and fundraising, the planned project is close to the amount it needs.

“We cannot grow to our full potential, we cannot serve Leicester residents with the materials, programs and services they deserve without this expansion,” said Library Director Suzanne Hall. “We appreciate Cumberland Farms for helping us to take advantage of this opportunity to proceed with the planned project - for benefiting our efforts to expand our walls and meet the needs of our community.”

“We are pleased to be a part of the fundraising efforts for the Leicester Library Expansion Campaign. Cumberland Farms understands the importance of expanding and renovating this public space so the library can better provide educational and intellectual resources to the Town of Leicester,” said Ari Haseotes, President of the Cumberland Farms Retail Division. “Leicester residents are seeing these improved programs and services in neighboring public libraries and deserve the same advancements in their community.”

So far this year, Cumberland Farms has donated more than $100,000 to support local organizations across the Northeast.
