Taunton, MA - Announcement re Cumberland Farms Team Member at 141 Broadway

One of Cumberland Farms Team Members at our 141 Broadway location in Taunton, MA has informed us that they have tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are taking all appropriate steps and following guidance from local health officials. We closed the store at 3PM on Sunday, April 5th. This store is being cleaned and sanitized by an industrial cleaning crew and will re-open in the next couple of the days. We are grateful to all our customers for your patience and understanding during this time.
All Team Members that work at the store have been contacted and advised to follow CDC-recommended guidelines. We are making every effort to provide the impacted Team Member and our broader team with the necessary resources and support.

EG Group is committed to supporting local authorities and governments, in every country the group operates in, to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of our team members and guests remains our top priority.

As impacts of COVID-19 continue to be felt across the United States, I want to share personally what we’re doing to serve and meet your needs in the safest possible in-store environment across all our banners.

We are closely following state, federal, and CDC guidelines, and here are some of the proactive steps we’ve taken to keep you safe:

Enhancing standards and procedures for cleaning protocols. We have put protocols in place to increase our already strict cleaning, sanitation and hygiene standards. In addition to our existing cleaning and sanitation practices, all high use touchpoints, such as door knobs, coffee handles, and dispensing equipment are being continuously cleaned and sanitized. As recommended by the CDC, our team members are washing their hands on a more frequent basis.

To promote social distancing, we have blocked all in-store seating areas and temporarily suspended consumption of food on-site.

Temporarily discontinuing reusable cups. In an effort to decrease the spread of germs, we are temporarily asking our guests to refrain from bringing in reusable cups for hot and cold beverages.

Encouraging individuals who are sick or who have any symptoms of the COVID-19 to stay home. Like many businesses, we have provided our employees with information about the symptoms of COVID-19 and have asked anyone who is sick to stay home. We also encourage our guests to consider only shopping with us if they are not feeling sick.
